“Our continuing efforts in our everyday lives will make this beautiful planet thrive.”
Earth Day is proof that even one person can make a global impact in a positive way. Echoing the same Class II Pelican celebrated EARTH DAY by conducting a special assembly in the school premises. The students were reminded of simple doable actions which can help our Mother Earth to be a better place. A soulful dance performance dedicated to our blue planet was organized. The children were made aware that ‘EACH DAY IS EARTH DAY’ and the purpose of celebrating Earth Day is to keep our grass green and our sky blue with more trees and less pollution.  At the end, HOS Ma’am discussed the hazardous effect of the usage of plastic with the students and emphasised on how important it is to do small things each day to protect our environment.

"There's No Planet B: Go Green!"
A week-long celebration of Earth Day in the school began with a range of activities like making paper bags,  recycling and crafting amazing bird feeders using waste materials, paint and reuse plastic bottles and decor pebbles. The activities were organized to sensitize students about the importance of conserving natural resources and motivate them to contribute towards protecting their environment.  
As part of the Earth Day celebrations, a special assembly was conducted by classes V-A and V-E, beginning with a morning prayer. The young choir sang a soulful and melodious song dedicated to Mother Earth which was followed by a thought-provoking dance-drama that conveyed a special message about soil pollution, conservation and how all of us can make a difference by making small adjustments in our daily rituals & habits. Students took a pledge to preserve this precious planet by reducing the Carbon Footprint. The global theme for this year’s Earth Day, “Planet vs Plastics,” was given special emphasis by a group of students who conveyed a strong message about the little ways by which we can take care of our Earth. The day ended with a message from our Head of School, Ms.Sudha Sadangi, wherein she enlightened the students about the significance of celebrating Earth Day.

“Cleanliness is next to godliness.”
Cleanliness is an essential aspect of maintaining a healthy environment. ShreeRam World School organized the Cleanliness Drive under Swachh Bharat, Swasth Bharat Abhiyaan Programme. It aimed at creating awareness among students about the importance of cleanliness in maintaining a healthy environment. The primary objective was to promote cleanliness and hygiene practices in public areas such as streets, parks, and markets. The students of Grade 5 went to the DDA Park in Sector-10 for the Cleanliness Drive marking it as an essential step towards creating a cleaner and healthier environment.
The volunteers of class 5th worked tirelessly to clean up the location by removing litter, waste material, watering the plants and planted some saplings. The programs aimed to educate people on proper waste disposal practices, such as recycling and composting. The students made people aware to stop throwing garbage and waste in the park or in the street. The drive also encouraged individuals to adopt personal hygiene practices such as washing hands regularly, especially before and after eating.

The Cleanliness Drive served as an example of how communities can come together to promote cleanliness and create a better environment for all.

“Water is life and conservation is the future. Let’s save lives through water conservation.”To sensitise students about the importance of water, a special assembly on “Jal hi Jeevan” wasconducted by the students of class II Canary and Flamingo.The assembly commenced with an intriguing poem, followed by a skit focussing on the impact ofwater pollution on the aquatic life. The students presented a dance showcasing the importance ofwater in the life of human beings. Students also conveyed different ways of water conservation.The students of class II presented a melodious song “Phoolon ne Jaake” which created anatmosphere of ecstasy. Students enthusiastically participated in the assembly.The Head of School, Ms Sudha Sadangi appreciated the students for their efforts and motivated all the students to save water and take care of the environment.

Trees are Vital, without Trees Life will be Fatal! SAVE TREES, SAVE LIFE!
Van Mahotsav was celebrated with great zeal by the students of Class I – Daffodil & Lily. The special assembly was conducted to promote a secure and happy environment for Mother Nature.  The students presented a dance showcasing the impact of deforestation. The dance also emphasized how we can Save Trees in order to save Mother Nature. The message was conveyed through dance and music that we should start protecting our precious earth and its valuable resources, so that they can be available to us for many years to come.
The students of class I presented a foot tapping song 'Dharti ka dil kya bole sun.” 
The Primary Incharge, Ms Gursimar Kaur Kapoor appreciated the efforts of the students for presenting such a heart-warming assembly and motivated all the students to plant more trees and take care of the environment.

“Take care of the trees, they will take care of you.”
Van Mahotsav is an annual one-week tree-planting festival celebrated throughout India in the first week of July. Nature is all about give and take. ShreeRam World School organized a tree plantation drive. It is a step towards educating and inspiring students to grow and nurture plants. The students of classes Pre School, PrePrimary and  III - V participated with zest and zeal in planting saplings of Neem, Gooseberry, Basil, Aloevera, Curry leaves, Ajwain, Ashwagandha, Gudmar/ Gymnema sylvestre, Mint, Lemon, etc and the students of classes I and II  participated in the activity - Germination of Millets(Ragi). The students enthusiastically celebrated the mahotsav by participating in the activity on 'Things We Get From Plants', spreading joy and good words about plants.
  
The teacher assisted students by demonstrating the correct way to plant and nurture a sapling. The teacher also explained the medicinal values to the students and imparted knowledge for the protection of the environment. They were motivated to acquire the skills for solving environmental problems.

The students were deeply motivated as well as realized the importance of trees and the ecosystem. It also helped in strengthening the bond between plants and humans. Students will always cherish the memories of this important occasion.

21st April 2023: Earth Day Celebration at SRWS

“Let every breath, every word, and every step make the Mother Earth proud of us.” 

Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22nd April as an annual event all across the world to honour our Earth as well as to spread awareness about environmental protection.

As a step towards inspiring, educating and motivating children to act, a special assembly was conducted by the students of Classes VI B and C. It started with a mesmerizing dance performance depicting humans’ selfish acts. It was followed by a ‘Nukkad Natak’ propagating the idea of sustainable usage of our natural resources. Further, the students took an oath to respect all living beings and keep their planet clean and green. Students were also sensitised about the importance of saving the environment through a melodious song.

The Head of School applauded the concern of the students towards their environment. She further encouraged them to be responsible citizens and protect their home, their Earth before it gets too late.

God made trees, God made leaves
God says: Please take care of these.

A walk in the nature’s lap is an opportunity to learn about Mother Earth and appreciate and admire her many facets. The students of classes PS to II were thrilled to observe different types of plants and flowers. They were shown the difference between a tree and a plant and different types of plants like shrubs, creepers etc. The students walked around expressing their excitement about everything they saw and heard. Students were encouraged to observe the varying shapes and texture of different flowers as well as the life cycle of the plant. In the entire process the teacher provided appropriate scaffolding to children to construct and enhance their understanding about nature and its importance.

“The earth, the air, the land, and the water are not an inheritance from our forefathers but on loan from our children. So we have to handover to them at least as it was handed over to us.” –  Mahatma Gandhi

Water is a limited resource. It is needed for all living things and must be managed well to ensure we have enough for our needs and to protect our environment. To sensitise students about the importance of water, a special assembly on ‘Water Is Precious’ was conducted by the students of IV-A. It started with a short speech and a street play signifying the importance and ways to conserve water. A small dance performance on the song ‘Yeh pani zindagani' added stars to this celebration. A beautiful and mesmerising song ‘Water Anthem’ composed by A.R. Rahman was sung. Students enthusiastically participated in the assembly. At the end, the Head of School, Ms Sudha Sadangi addressed the students and teachers and appreciated the efforts and hard work of the students.

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “What we are doing to the forests of the world is but a mirror reflection of what we are doing to ourselves.” 

World Nature Conservation Day is observed on July 28 every year. This year’s theme for World Nature Conservation Day is 'Living Sustainably in Harmony with Nature'. With this year’s record-breaking heat, wildfires, floods and other natural calamities, people across the world are realising the perils of climate change caused by human activity. This year’s theme is related to sustainable use of natural resources by humans and employing conservation practices to refrain from exploiting nature through mining, hunting and other destructive activities.

A special assembly on ‘World Nature Conservation Day’ was conducted by the students of VII-D. It started with a short speech and a skit signifying the importance and conservation of our resources. A beautiful and mesmerising song ‘phoolo ne jakr mitti se poocha’ was sung . A self composed poem on nature was recited by Aarini Pathak of VII-D. Students enthusiastically participated in the assembly. At the end, the Head of School, Ms Sudha Sadangi addressed the students and teachers and appreciated the efforts and hard work of the students.

12th July 2022: PLANT A TREE, MAKE THE EARTH POLLUTION-FREE

Van Mahotsav is an annual tree planting festival which is celebrated in India every year. It is celebrated in the first week of July that is from 1st July till 7th July. The 1st week of July is the right time for planting trees as it coincides with the monsoon season. A special assembly on ‘Van Mahotsav’ was conducted by the students of V-E in the presence of class III to V. It started with a short speech and a skit signifying the importance and conservation of trees for mankind. A beautiful and mesmerising song ‘Jeena Isi Ka Naam’ was sung through which the importance of afforestation and awareness among students was highlighted. The students danced elegantly to the tunes of ‘ Count On Trees’ conveying an important message to inculcate consciousness and love of trees amongst the people. An Awareness Rally was also taken out by the students in the school to promote the awareness on planting trees and hence the growth of our forest resources. Students enthusiastically participated in the assembly. At the end, the Head of School, Ms Sudha Sadangi addressed the students and teachers and appreciated the efforts and hard work of the students.

24th May 2022: Special Assembly on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), also known as the Global Goals, were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity. The 17 SDGs are integrated—they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others, and that development must balance social, economic and environmental sustainability. A special assembly on Sustainable Development Goals was conducted by the students of class IX A of on 23rd May 2022. The young crusaders enlightened the audience about all 17 SDG goals including no poverty, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, clean water and sanitation, affordable and clean energy etc. They further presented a skit and conducted a quiz to raise awareness about sustainable development and urged everyone to be responsible citizens.

Namami Gange- Blended Capacity Building Programme
21st May 2022: Namami Gange- Blended Capacity Building Programme
Students of classes V, VI and VII of our school participated in ‘Blended Capacity Building Programme for Stakeholders of River Ganga under Namami Gange Programme conducted by IIPA (Indian Institute of Public Administration) from 18.05.2022 to 20.05.2022. Various competitions like Quizzes, Word Hunts, Poster Making etc. were conducted in which our students participated with enthusiasm. We are proud to announce the winners of the Poster making competition. The theme of the competition was Rainwater Harvesting.
First Position- Jannat Sadera (VI-B): Rs.750
Second Position- Parth Vashishth (V-B) and Shivika Ujlayan (VI-A): Rs. 250 each
Third Position- Shanaya Chauhan (V-B): Rs. 250
The sessions conducted were very interactive and our students understood the importance of keeping our rivers clean.

"Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better."
The most important day for humans and humanity, ‘Earth Day’, was celebrated in ShreeRam World School on 22nd April, 2022, with a special morning assembly. The students of classes II, V and VIII organised a special assembly to encourage fellow students to feel a greater sense of urgency about protecting our planet. The assembly commenced with the chanting of ‘Gayatri Mantra’. The thought of the day was presented wherein the students urged everyone to decorate Earth with green plants and take all the necessary measures to keep it clean. An informative speech on the theme- ‘Heal Our Earth was also presented. A beautiful and mesmerising song, ‘Phulo ne jaake mitti se pucha’, was sung through which the legacy of the Earth and what it expects from us was highlighted. Colourful banners and placards conveyed messages such as ‘Every day is Earth Day’, ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ and ‘Love the world you’re in.’ The students danced elegantly to the tunes of ‘Maati,’ conveying an important message to "Love the soil as you love yourself." The students also pledged to take care of the Earth for its protection and healthy survival by all necessary measures. The Head of School, Ms Sudha Sadangi, graced the occasion and applauded the children for putting up a great show. The celebration helped students assimilate simply yet clearly that we should keep our environment clean and plant more trees to make active progress to Heal Our Earth. It also rekindled emotional concerns and instigated the youngsters to save, love and respect Mother Nature with all their heart and soul.

Little ones of ShreeRam World School have done the school proud in Seedlings 2020, a virtual inter-school competition organized by Bal Bharati Public School, Dwarka. Araayna of Preprimary bagged the First Position in the event 'I care for my planet' and Charvik Shami of Preprimary also bagged the First Position in the event 'Sweat and Sparkle'. Well done!

Nature is God’s most beautiful creation. It facilitates the growth, development and nourishment of all creatures. In order to conserve the true essence of nature, ShreeRam World School conducted 'Let's Go Green Activity' as part of Van Mahotsav 2020 to contribute a bit to protect our environment. Students from classes PS-V sent their photographs which depicted them planting saplings, Poster-Making, Slogan-Writing etc. All the students participated enthusiastically in this drive sending out a loud and clear message that we need to plant today for a better tomorrow.
