21st July 2022: Workshop on Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties
“Life is a balancing act. While we have all the rights to be in freedom, peace, harmony and bliss; we do have a responsibility to ensure that others too enjoy their own freedom, peace, harmony and bliss.”
A workshop on Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties was organised for the students of classes VIII-X, keeping in mind the importance of both rights and responsibilities in the life of a student. The importance of rights and responsibilities go hand in hand and come into play in many places. It's important not only to be aware about your fundamental rights, but also to have an awareness regarding your fundamental duties as a citizen of our nation.
The workshop's main goal was to familiarise the students with the basic conceptual clarity regarding fundamental rights and fundamental duties provided to us by our Indian Constitution. The workshop also aimed to teach students about the importance of fundamental rights for an individual in the society; importance of fundamental duties of a citizen in the nation; balance between fundamental rights and fundamental duties; and to learn how to fulfill your duties in order to enjoy your rights.
The reward of doing one duty is the power to do another. An individual who neglects his/her duty as a citizen is not entitled to his/her rights as a citizen. Knowledge of our duties is the most essential part of the philosophy of life.
