28th November 2014: English Story Telling
People of all ages love stories. Children are great fans of stories and love to listen to them. Story telling is an art that has mental, social and educational benefits on children. Through stories children hear about characters, visualize a dramatic representation of problems, how characters choose to solve them and the positive and negative consequences of those choices. They meet characters from their own culture and others, and become familiar with a range of customs, personalities and points of view.

In order to enhance the oratory skills of students and eliminate stage fright, S R World School organized an English Story Telling Activity for the tiny tots of Preschool & Pre primary. The students had fun listening to each other’s stories.

“Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body.”
Reading exercises our brains. It improves our concentration & imagination. Reading is not just a great form of entertainment, it also helps in relaxing the body and calming the mind. It helps children develop empathy and broadens their outlook. They are exposed to ways of life, ideas and beliefs about the world which may be different from those which surround them.It not only improves their fluency in speaking but also enhances their writing skills.

Keeping in view the benefits of reading, S R World School observed “One Nation Reading Together “on Friday, 28 November 2014 where all members of the SRWS family sat in the school lawns and read books, newspapers and magazines together. The reading day turned out to be fruitful as children promised to read more and more books.
